For a brief introduction, Cebu is one of the 2,000 inhabited islands in the Philippines. It is not only known for its sweet mangoes, lechon, majestic waterfalls, and white sand with turquoise water beaches with diverse marine life, I believe it is most famous for its face-to-face encounter with whale sharks in Oslob which caught the fancy and attention of Filipinos and foreigners (A very important note: There are codes of conduct to be followed when interacting with the whale sharks. Let’s all be a responsible traveler or tourist). So, whether you’re a food lover, a beach bum, or an adventurous person, Cebu is perfect for you. The Queen City of the South is highly accessible via airplane from Manila and several Asian countries.

Here comes the gentle giants of Oslob, Cebu…

My best (yes, best) shot with the whale shark in 3, 2 ,1….

Lol! I cannot swim so I did not have a proper photo with them (I cry).. but hey, I will learn to swim and go back there and swim with these friendly whale sharks. Nonetheless, it was a good experience to interact a little with these giant yet gentle creatures.

Time to chase waterfalls…
